Updates from the Safe House

August 27, 2017

There are many different anti-human trafficking organizations in Kathmandu – Safe Nepal is the only one that offers a plan for the women's lives beyond their immediate need. These organizations see Safe Nepal as very effective & will send women who do want out of that life to Safe Nepal for continuing aid. It's all about loving and serving each other.

Please be in urgent prayer for Rusha and Nisha; they had each left the safe house (Nisha most recently) with a good plan and a commitment to stay out of bad places. Unfortunately, they have gone back to their old lives and do not want contact from Safe Nepal at this time. We are praying for them.

Madhur has "graduated" and returned to her village to establish a tailor shop. She is working hard to support herself and her family there. There was some concern about her little daughter, Hasana, having access to the quality of education she had in the city.

Sharan also graduated recently and established the only tailor shop in her area just as the country is looking forward to festival time. She has more business than she can keep up with and has asked Safe Nepal to send two girls to help her. This could become an ongoing outlet for graduates of the safe house looking to establish themselves independently.

Abhi has taken over the safe house's tailor shop and is doing well. Please be in prayer as Safe Nepal looks for another location to establish their tailor shop.

As each woman graduates and goes out to establish her own tailor shop or beauty parlor, Safe Nepal tries to help them by paying their first two months' rent and basic supplies. This cost is around $2000, and there have been three recent graduates needing this assistance.

Thank you for being in prayer to support these women. We go with the idea that we are encouraging them. Yet they pour themselves out into us more than it seems we pour into them. They are an encouragement to us as we see how they’re thriving.

Though the fig tree does not bud
and there is no fruit on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will triumph in Yahweh;
I will rejoice in the God of my salvation!
Yahweh my Lord is my strength;
He makes my feet like those of a deer
and enables me to walk on mountain heights!

Habakkuk 3:17-19
