We have a new member this month. Kavita is fifteen years old. Because of poverty her family was unable to provide her needs and in her young age she left her studies and was going off track. Through her aunt, we came to know that she is not staying at her house and she spends most of her time outside with her friends – that puts her at a very high risk for trafficking. Her family was unable to control her. Every day they would scold her, which made her more frustrated and she did not want to stay at home. Her aunt brought her to us and we talked about all her issues. We counseled her and asked her to continue her studies; she said she has no further desire to study, but she wants to learn parlor training. She said if she gets the opportunity to learn skills, she will be good. So we brought her into the safe house.
